Montreal based duo with Balkan roots brewing a fresh, soulful and uplifting sound.

Over 10 years ago, we happened to be neighbours and thanks to the serendipity of life, our paths crossed again in 2019…we fell in love, quarantined together and by and by, as if they had been waiting for each other, our passions aligned...

Iason Milan is a composer, arranger, mixer, performer and multi-instrumentalist from Montreal.

Born of Greek and Serbian origins, he developed his love for music at a young age and began to play piano at 5 years old and later, the guitar. Even though he grew up in Canada, he experienced a deep longing and connection with traditional Balkan music, inspiring him to learn the Greek bouzouki, baglamas, violin and accordion.

Seeking a deeper level of understanding with music, he completed a master’s degree in Instrumental Music Composition at Université de Montréal where he studied under the direction of Juno award-winning composer, Denis Gougeon.

In parallel to music, Iason is also a professional graphic designer, illustrator and motion-graphic designer since 2008.

This dedicated and disciplined artistic journey has now led him here, to the Zorbas, the ultimate partnership he was always hoping for.

Inka Malovic was conceived in the Congo, born in Bosnia, grew up in Algeria and with the outbreak of war, settled with her family in Canada. Thanks to her rich and nomadic upbringing, she is a polyglot who developed a fascination for human behaviour and a passion for the arts at a young age.

She is now a professional actress trained at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in NYC and at the University of British Columbia. A diverse performer with over 10yrs experience, her work spans from classical, physical and street Theatre to Film, TV, Voice and Mo-cap (animation/video games).

Music has also always been a huge part of her life. First she discovered her love for the flute, then her love for dance, specializing in Cuban Rhythms and performing all over Canada, either solo or for companies like Estelle Cubano, Drum Café, and Vision Diversité. She simultaneously trained her voice at Lee Strasberg and continues to do so through private lessons; to finally discover her love for the cajon, a new found obsession.

She is thrilled to throw on her creator hat with The Zorbas and hone all these passions with her beloved. A dream come true.

🕺🏽 With all our hearts, we welcome you along our journey 💃🏻
